The london Accent , and the changing thereof
Dawned on me earlier whilst watching an interview with alan minter , that what i always use to associate as a London accent is pretty much on the way out ..

This was the interview

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3l5nmZ1ad00

I have a feeling in another generation time it will be completely gone, and replaced with the new london accent ..

Re: The london Accent , and the changing thereof
Given that Alan Minter is from Crawley West Sussex it's not an ideal comparison. Try Burt from Marry Poppins or maybe Chas Dave, oh wait a minute?

makes sense , he was from Sarf of the river ...

The riot after he lost his title to Hagler would enforce that further :)

I think it's bollocks that the Jafaken accent is going to stick around. It's a fucking joke and when I have the misfortune to have to give kids a good shouting at they really hate what is and always will be the scariest accent- Cockney. I have to try and not laugh at what they think is a scary gangster accent.

'Jew wan a try an have a fuckin go at that agin in English sun?'*

*I'm perfectly aware of the irony.

I've noticed another trend recently, which may be the Made in Chelsea influence, of some women sounding slightly posher than they normally would.

Audible in the vowel sounds - pronouncing 'care' as 'carr'. 'Fair' as 'farr', that kind of thing..
